Yrec: the Yale Rotating Stellar Evolution Code Non-rotating Version, Seismology Applications
نویسنده
چکیده
The stellar evolution code YREC is outlined with emphasis on its applications to helioand asteroseismology. The procedure for calculating calibrated solar and stellar models is described. Other features of the code such as a non-local treatment of convective core overshoot, and the implementation of a parametrized description of turbulence in stellar models, are considered in some detail. The code has been extensively used for other astrophysical applications, some of which are briefly mentioned at the end of the paper.

Yields of rotating stars at solar metallicity
We present a new set of stellar yields obtained from rotating stellar models at solar metallicity covering the massive star range (12–60 M⊙). The stellar models were calculated with the latest version of the Geneva stellar evolution code described in Hirschi et al. (2004). Evolution and nucleosynthesis are in general followed up to silicon burning. The yields of our non–rotating models are cons...
متن کاملThe Evolution of Distorted Rotating Black Holes I: Methods and Tests
We have developed a new numerical code to study the evolution of distorted, rotating black holes. We discuss the numerical methods and gauge conditions we developed to evolve such spacetimes. The code has been put through a series of tests, and we report on (a) results of comparisons with codes designed to evolve non-rotating holes, (b) evolution of Kerr spacetimes for which analytic properties...

متن کاملDynamical evolution of rotating stellar systems – II . Post - collapse , equal mass system
We present the first post core collapse models of initially rotating star clusters, using the numerical solution of an orbit-averaged 2D Fokker-Planck equation. Based on the code developed by Einsel & Spurzem (1999), we have improved the speed and the stability and included the steady three-body binary heating source. We have confirmed that rotating clusters, whether they are in a tidal field o...
متن کاملModeling Rapidly Rotating Stars
We review the quest of modeling rapidly rotating stars during the past 40 years and detail the challenges to be taken up by models facing new data from interferometry, seismology, spectroscopy... We then present the progress of the ESTER project aimed at giving a physically self-consistent model for the structure and evolution of rapidly rotating stars.
